This Weekend: DUI Patrols Increased in Southern Rhode Island
According to the Providence Journal, local law enforcement will be stepping up their DUI OUI DWI patrols this weekend in southern Rhode Island.
More than 35 extra patrol cars will be on the lookout for suspicious drivers. Officers from North Kingstown, South Kingstown, Narragansett, Charlestown, East Greenwich, Westerly, Jamestown, West Greenwich, and the Rhode Island State Police will all participate in the crackdown.

Weekend DUI patrols beefed up in southern R.I.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. — More than 35 extra police officers will be on duty this weekend to spot drunken drivers in southern Rhode Island.
The state Department of Transportation is financing the operation, which begins Friday and runs through Monday. The additional officers will be known as the Southern Rhode Island DUI Task Force.
The South Kingstown Police Department said in a news release that it has investigated four fatal accidents in two years that were blamed on impaired drivers. In East Greenwich two young people died in an alcohol-related crash. Jamestown has seen one such fatality, Narragansett two, North Kingstown two, Richmond three, West Greenwich two and Westerly five.
