RI DUI Patrols Increased for Thanksgiving
RI DUI patrols will be out in force this Thanksgiving weekend.
Thanksgiving eve is traditionally one of the busiest nights of the year for bars and restaurants – and for DUI arrests.
This weekend the Rhode Island State Police and local municipal police departments have teamed up to form Operation Blue Riptide. The operation includes stepped up patrols in an effort to reduce DUI fatalities and accidents.
In a press conference this morning, Cranston Police showed off the state’s newest tool to combat DUI accidents and deaths. The RI BAT Mobile (Rhode Island Blood Alcohol Testing Mobile) is a 40 foot long trailer. The unit includes an on site blood alcohol testing machine, commonly known as the breathalyzer. The trailer will traverse the state in an effort to more quickly and efficiently combat drunk driving.
This holiday weekend, and every weekend, please stay safe. And remember, in RI buzzed driving is drunk driving. Call Callaghan & Callaghan with any questions or concerns (401) 294-4555.
Have a great Thanksgiving!
